Beam optics

Some typical configurations of the active beam elements are presented here.

The filter mode with focus at H2A is presented in this ps-file, where the magnet settings at 180 GeV/c are listed here. Using the filter mode with focus at T22, changes to the magnet settings different to the focus at H2A apply to the quadrupoles Q13-Q16 at 80 GeV/c. For the settings of the elements in the VLE part, please refer to the next paragraph. A positive charged hadron beam is preferred as the intensity is higher due to protons. For a light lepton beam the polarity is nonrelevant in terms of intensity.

The VLE beam uses a secondary beam with focus at T22 as indicated above. The elements of the low energy part have to be adjusted separately, according to the desired momentum in the range from 2-9GeV/c.
