Final Focus Settings

for high energy beams (layout 2003)

The table below shows a variety of possible final focus settings in H8 for the various quads. The beam in NA45 is managed by Q14-Q16. Q17 and Q18 serve for T48, H8A and H8B. The settings are given for a +300 GeV/c beam and is valid for filtermode and high-resolution mode. In brackets is the maximum momentum indicated, where the beam is transported still correctly and the current limit is reached at the same time.

A focus in NA45 is a focus horizontally earlier than vertically. A focus PIXEL means a focus at the same time vertically/horizontally at the position of the ATLAS PIXEL detector in NA45 as it was for the high intensity run in August 2003.
